safe and sound

Here are some pictures of the area in Holland where the conference was.
Yesterday after 2 hours in a bus, 2 layovers, 4 airports, and another 1 hour drive, I arrived in my new home away from home.  Today my housemate, her friend, and I spent the day getting to know one another a bit, went to the store for some groceries, and made some delicious fajitas!  I was so happy to have some Mexican-ish food.  Then I unpacked a bit, and took the obligatory "look at my place!" pictures.  Soon the housemate's fiance and another friend came over and we all went to the evening service--my first Anglican Church experience.  It was quite different that my church at home.  Not bad, just different.  For one thing, the building was GORGEOUS, aka, not in a strip mall.  It was the contemporary service, so there were guitars and drums and modern praise songs.  The liturgy was mixed in, which I actually found quite lovely.  And they had real wine with communion which was...interesting.  Anyway, it was nice to experience something different that what I'm used to.

Tomorrow is the first day on the "job"!  I've heard this week will be kind of a "fun" week, with tours around the city and whatnot.  I have to figure out what to wear.

And, without further ado, the aforementioned pictures of the new place!

our kitchen, with a clothes washer where the
dishwasher would normally go...
My own room!  With a double bed!
Our charming front room
